Word Assignments
For many of the projects you can use the data files provided. Other projects will ask you to create new documents and files, and then enter text and data into them so you can master creating documents from scratch.

The “Try It” hands-on-practice activities provide brief procedures to teach all necessary skills and you are provided with practice data files.

If you are a visual, learner, use the Word 2010 Videos at:
http://www.gcflearnfree.org/office2010
Read and follow the step-by-step directions.

The videos will be available to you for all of the Microsoft programs that we will do in the class.
http://www.gcflearnfree.org/office2010

The “Create It” projects give you step by step directions to make it easier for you to do the “Apply It” projects.

All “Create It” projects must be submitted for a grade.

All “Apply It” projects must be submitted for a grade.

The “Chapter Assessment and Application” projects must be submitted for a grade.

The “Tech Talk” articles must be submitted for a grade.

All the projects instruct you to save the files created or to save the project files under a new name that includes your first and last name as part of the file name. This is to make the project file your own, and to avoid overwriting the data file in the storage location. All files should be saved in your P drive and USB drive.

Unless the packet instructs otherwise, use the default settings for text size, margin size, and so on when creating a file.
